City Food Safety Regulations

While each city is governed by both federal and provincial food safety regulations, there are also city specific bylaws that affect foodservice businesses at the muncipal level.

Federal food safety regulations

There is one set of regulations that affects foodservice businesses at the national level.

The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations went into force in 2019.

The Food Retail and Food Services Code is not a regulation in itself, but a policy document meant to guide the forming of regulations at the national and provincial levels.
